Prenatal Care: Midwives provide comprehensive prenatal care to pregnant women. This includes conducting regular check-ups, monitoring the mother's health and the baby's development, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing counseling and education on pregnancy-related topics such as nutrition, exercise, and childbirth preparation.
Labor and Delivery Assistance: Midwives assist women during labor and childbirth. They monitor the progress of labor, provide emotional support and comfort measures, administer pain relief options (both pharmacological and non-pharmacological), assist with breathing techniques and position changes, and ensure the safety and well-being of the mother and the baby throughout the process.
Postpartum Care: Midwives continue to provide care to women and their babies after childbirth. They conduct postpartum check-ups for the mother, assessing her physical recovery, emotional well-being, and providing guidance on breastfeeding, newborn care, contraception, and postpartum self-care. Midwives also monitor the newborn's growth and development during the postpartum period.
